Resumo

Based on a broad investigation of the appropriations of digital social networks in the mediatized daily life, this article seeks to investigate the use of audiovisual narratives to constitute fake news about the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil. The main objective is to identify the occurrence of audiovisual use by producers/spreaders of fake news on digital social networks, considering the entire narrative repertoire of disinformation on the subject (audiovisuals, texts, photographs/illustrations/prints, audios). The study on what is called perverse audiovisuality was carried out from the set of investigations carried out by the Comprova Project, to verify suspicious content that goes viral on the networks, formed by 40 Brazilian journalistic vehicles. The analyzes cover two years of work of this collaborative investigative journalism, from the first verification, on March 25, 2020, right at the beginning of the pandemic, to March 25, 2022, already with confrontation also made through vaccines. The methodology also included a literature review. The research identified the significant use of audiovisual narratives in order to disinformation about the pandemic, highlighting the context of a perverse sociability, one that, among other limitations, despises factual truth as a social bond.
