Abstract

The appearance in the market of high-quality digital cinema cameras have opened a wide range of opportunities for film makers. Before this revolution image capture I n celluloid was the only medium which offered reasonable quality for cinema. The procedure of image capture forced to have a specialist (director of photography) highly qualified to capture the right image for the lab. Today image can be seen and evaluated on the spot as it is being registered so there is no need in fact of a highly qualified person to obtain an image. This fact forces education in general to adapt. Image capture should not be an exclusivity for camera operators but also for directors and content producers. So, image capture education should adapt the camera discipline to be taught to all levels of film studies.
