Chapter III _ Cinema - Communication
“Is it you?”: creation for oneself and for others
Abstract
The present work aims to problematize the “show of the self” in contemporary society, carried out mainly through the imagery representation of oneself in social networks. How do we carry out our representations through images? What do we want with her? Questions that will be discussed with the author Paula Sibilia, the author Benjamin, the British series “Blackmirror”, the film “Pacific” by director Marcelo Pedroso and the film “Blade Runner” by director Ridley Scott. The selection of films is due to the approach to the problem from different angles and contexts. In contemporary society, individual experience becomes primarily “showing life (to others)”, transforming the relationship with the experience of the world. Capturing an image on a summer afternoon is now aimed at exposing that moment and no longer its “aura” .
