Capítulo II _ Cinema - Cinema
Som, Corpo e Emoção no Cinema
Resumo
The present article reflects on the role of sound in cinema as a catalyst for emotions, starting from the idea that sound, by itself, without visual support, is a force capable of eliciting visceral emotions and provoking visual imagination. For this purpose, on the one hand, the transition from silent cinema to sound cinema will be analyzed considering films such as Man with a Movie Camera (Vertov 1929), focusing on the relationship between sound and emotion. On the other hand, case studies will be examined, addressing the materiality of sound through the listening of sound excerpts without visual support. The aim of this research is to construct a theoretical and practical framework to allow the envision of the role of sound materiality as an activator and emotional force in cinema.
