Résumé

In the official video clip of the Qatar World Cup 2022, the concept used for animation was the construction of worlds mimetizing the digital terrain models (DTM) molded from maps or aerial photographs of the various countries’ signatories of the megaevent. In The video clip, the countries are represented through the various flags’ inns on each terrain, which fly, like magic carpets, on a group of barefoot children playing football whose terrain is below the rest. The point of view of children becomes that of a constellation to aim/dream. Among the flags it moves to the terrain with the monument stadium-nest. Among them, as a sun planet, a zoetrope/wheel of life refers to the movements and interstices and possibly refers to the Arab physicist Al Hazen who in the 11th century discusses the time of visual impressions in the retina. From the point of view of the upper terrains the feeling of being surrounded by a sea that mirrors desert, historic buildings, and modern cities of Qatar. The animation uses, through an internal assembly, terrains that function as three-dimensional multi screens, to create a complex composition of an archipelago / constellation.
