The impact of non-verbal communication in animation: A case study of “Fragmentos” short animated film
Resumen
Nonverbal communication constitutes a set of languages developed and adopted by humans over millennia, predating verbal language. In the field of animated cinema, the nonverbal dimension plays a central role, allowing characters, settings, and gestures to convey meanings that go beyond their structural aspects. This study analyzes the short film Fragmentos (2020), exploring the nonverbal languages adopted and their symbolic meanings. Through a semiotic analysis, we investigate elements such as gestures, visual composition, and symbolism, and how these contribute to the narrative and emotional communication of the film. This research is part of a broader doctoral research aimed at deepening the impact of animation on human communication.
