Chapitre I _ Cinéma - Art
O cinema de animação promotor de soberania, cultura e identidade: o caso particular de I am from Palestine (2023) de Rifk Ebeid e Iaman Zawahry
Résumé
The conflicts that affect humanity in different parts of the globe exacerbate poverty and insecurity, impacting on everybody’s lives. The alterations they produce carry out radical changes in security and peace. Sometimes, this is compounded by the attempt to eliminate the other. Undertaken through their progressive annihilation, gradually the oppressor eliminates their uniqueness, culture, space and art. In a more radical way, there is sometimes an attempt to eradicate certain peoples and ethnicities, as well as the sovereignty of some countries. Through the conscious invasion of their territorial space, wars arise, attempting to weaken, if not extinguish, the peoples and culture of these territories. In example, the conflicts that rage in the Gaza Strip or Ukraine. I am from Palestine (2023), produced and directed by Rifk Ebeid and Iaman Zawahry, addresses the problem of the extermination, by omission, of a culture, a country, and a people. The animated short film presents a discussion on issues of identity, diversity, sovereignty, and nationality. In this sense, our proposal aims, through its presentation and analysis, to highlight the relevance of this narrative for raising awareness of the respect that humanity owes to others, to their differences, and to everything that makes them unique. The film also allows us to discuss the need to foster humanism and respect among peoples, striving for harmony and peace, contributing to education, respect, and acceptance of other peoples, cultures and traditions, thus promoting peace.
