Resumen

Based on data provided by the ICA (Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual - Portuguese Film and Audiovisual Institute), covering the period from 2020 to 2025, considerations on Portuguese cinema will be presented, specifically regarding production, distribution, and exhibition. From a methodological point of view, various publications made available by the ICA between 2020 and 2026 were consulted and analyzed. The results will present the figures regarding the production of Portuguese cinematographic works supported by the ICA between 2020 and 2025. In addition, some considerations will be made concerning nationally produced feature films that were released and exhibited in Portuguese cinemas, as well as the number of spectators and gross revenues obtained during the period between 2020 and 2025. Furthermore, the most watched Portuguese feature films in national cinemas during the same time period will also be referenced.
