This article analyzes the production of artistic works generated by artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on the field of cinema, problematizing its status as art. In a first phase, it examines the recent development of AI technologies and their application in various creative domains, including audiovisual creation, highlighting the ability of algorithms to imitate styles and generate content with an appearance of originality. In a second moment, it discusses the concept of art from a historical and philosophical perspective, emphasizing its dynamic character and its dependence on specific cultural and technological contexts. In this context, it highlights the problem of the absence of intention and consciousness in machines, questioning to what extent these elements are essential to the definition of artistic practice, particularly in the cinematographic context.The study also addresses the role of the human being in the creative process, emphasizing the relevance of programming, data selection, and curation, both in artistic production in general and in filmmaking. These factors lead to a critical reflection on the authorship of the works produced and on the distribution of creative responsibility between humans and algorithmic systems.
Finally, it is concluded that the question of the artistic status of works generated by artificial intelligence remains open, reflecting the complexity, topicality, and constantly transforming nature of this debate, with specific implications for the future of cinema.
