Abstract

This article presents the conceptualisation, development and objectives of “Viciados em Estar”, a short audiovisual series designed as a digital anxiety awareness tool for adolescents. Grounded in a systematic literature review on the mechanisms of digital stress - namely FOMO, approval anxiety, availability stress and connection overload - the series adopts a radical formalist approach inspired by Eugenie Brinkema, translating theoretical concepts into sensory experiences through editing rhythm, sound and visual composition. The production process is described across its three phases - pre-production, production and post-production - highlighting the aesthetic and technical decisions that underpin each episode. The series aims to promote digital literacy by simulating the psychological burden imposed by social media platforms on adolescents, fostering critical reflection on their own online practices.
